Giving back is an important tenet that drives the work Wuitusu does. We have an ongoing commitment with The Wayuu Taya Foundation, an organization turning 20 years this October 2023. Among the worthy projects this organization pursues, we wanted to focus on the most vulnerable part of any community: the children. At Wuitusu, every $50 purchase helps feed 5 Wayuu children.
Besides, our continuous work with the Wayuu Taya Foundation, we have this year donated to a local Maui Relief Fund, We Walk by Faith Doyle-Gilchrist Cancer Center, and we will be soon taking part in Fair Trade LA Silent Auction.
Among the reasons we contribute to these causes are:
- Supporting Vulnerable Communities: Donations to organizations like The Wayuu Taya Foundation can help support vulnerable communities, whether they are in need of food, clean water, healthcare, education, or other resources.
- Disaster Relief: Donations to Maui Relief Fundraising or similar efforts can provide crucial support to communities affected by natural disasters, helping them recover and rebuild.
- Medical Research and Support: Donating to organizations like We Walk by Faith Doyle-Gilchrist Cancer Center Fundraising can contribute to medical research and patient care, potentially leading to advancements in the treatment of diseases like cancer.
- Promoting Fair Trade and Sustainability: Supporting Fair Trade LA Silent Auction or similar initiatives promotes ethical and sustainable business practices, which can have a positive impact on workers and the environment.
- Fostering a Sense of Community: Donations and fundraising efforts can bring people together, create a sense of community, and inspire others to contribute to important causes.
