Manta Wayuu is the name given to these Kaftan dresses. These are one of many variations of the traditional dresses Wayuu women wear daily. Every one who wants to enjoy a dress that is cool (literally, it keeps you cool) and beautiful, should wear it.
The dress is cotton, and the hand-embroidery is acrylic (hence the bright colors). The embroidery depicts life from the Wayuu perspective. It is a one-size-fits-all, and can be machine washed in cold water. Hang to dry. Inside the dress there are two strings that can be tied to accentuate the waist.
Each $50 purchase will help feed 5 Wayuu children through the Wayuu Taya Foundation.
